Why Code

Coding is considered the literacy of the digital age. This is a whole new language for the youth to speak fluently and express themselves in the 21st century. It is estimated that 11 million youth will enter the African labour market every year over the next decade and the digital jobs could increase their income by 40% to 200%. It goes without saying that acting NOW is a MUST!!

We therefore view coding as a problem-solving tool for participating learners through a hands-on, playful learning environment.

Our programme combines youthful creativity and curiosity with school subjects such as Mathematics, Leadership, Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation in a vibrant digital environment. This allows participating learners to become adept at computer programming in short periods of time

Web Development


This course is an introduction to web development for absolute beginners, It is geared towards helping students understand the prerequisites of web design and development using content management systems and lastly submitting it for indexing to search engines.


  1. Understanding the basic principles of web development

  4. Understanding web terms and platforms used for various goals.


The course is a comprehensive two to three day session with minimal theory and a whole lot of practical work, and students will leave the class being able to develop a website and manage information into search engines so they may be able to design, develop and and index a site whether a personal blog or professional requirements.


Introduction to design

This session is an interactive look at what tools can be used to design a website and concepts to grasp to understand work from idea to complete work.

Introduction to development

This brief session addresses the needs to understand the difference between web design and  development, the differences and how development and design complement each other with regards to the web.


Introduction to tools

This session is for gathering tools and understanding how scope of work helps design and development processes easier before working and how to gather the right tools for a project.

Introduction to blogging

What is blogging and how is it important, how to get started is the purposes of this session.

How to publish a web page

How do you publish a web page correctly, is a the goal of this session to publish locally or to the web after completing web design.

Introduction to content

How to gather content, create content of a website, and working with content. This class aIms to highlight  the importance of understanding web content.

Indexing a website to search engines.

Learn the fundamentals of submitting a site to search engines so that it is visible to places like google and yahoo etc.
